KP: Well, the only reason I decided to do a pageant is because I wanted a crown! I mean, is that not every little girls dream? My first pageant was in eighth grade, and after that I was unstoppable! After winning my first “Little Miss” pageant, I competed in the Miss America Organization in 2009 and went all the way to Miss America’s Outstanding Teen; placing third RU! Now I am here in the Miss USA system, and I could not be anymore grateful!
2. If you could have any job and money was not an option what would it be?
KP: Without a doubt, my favorite TV mogul’s are Oprah and Giuliana Rancic. If I could be the host of E! News or “own” my own network I would be set for life!
3.Who is your celeb crush? If you have one …lol
KP: Okay, don’t laugh. It’s (drum roll please)……Corbin Bleu!! You know, from High School Musical? Even though he is 23, he may be a little old; but that is okay since he is a tall 5’11, brown eyed glass of goodness!! Yum!! hahah
4. What has been one of your most fun/memorable moments so far as Miss North Carolina Teen USA ?
KP: Seriously there has been so many, and I don’t mean to sound cliché. From working with the USO, fashion shows, public speaking events, my favorite would have to be the Father/Daughter Dance appearance. I have never felt so loved; those little princesses looked up to me as who they truly want to become! You know, sometimes I do not realize what ability I have with this crown. I can honestly change little girls’ lives by just a simple touch, smile, wave, compliment or autograph! It makes me feel like that God has sent me out in this world, to help other people; and by having this title, I KNOW I am fulfilling His duties.
5. What are you looking most forward to at Miss Teen USA 2012 ?
KP: Well besides an amazing vacation, just the atmosphere of competing. I love to compete; the anxiety, the thrill, the rush is all what makes it fun! Since we win our state level we cannot compete in any other pageant until our reign is over. So this is the one time I can get back on stage and give the crowd a show!
6. Any advice or words of inspiration for young girls wishing to one day be in your footsteps ?
KP: You cannot do this alone; try it, you will not get very far! Do not be afraid to ask for help; trust me, once I learned this a weight was lifted off of me! I found out that the more people you know the farther you will go. So go ahead and look for a support system that is willing to help you on your pageant journey. The best part is you will make lasting friends because of it! Oh, and if you want to be cool like me *wink* *wink* you can make up a nickname for your support system. Mine is TeamKat (:
7. From beauty queen to beauty queen what is one of your favorite pageant beauty tips or secrets !
KP: Oh, girl! The best trick I have learned is WATER…H2O…AGUA! Whatever you want to call it, it will be you savior! Okay so not only does drinking water help hydrate your skin to keep it a clear complexion, but it helps with applying makeup! I keep a mini spray bottle in my Caboodle, and spray if on my brushes before I apply my eye shadow. This adheres better to my lid or brow and keeps the color vibrant on my eyes. Lastly before you put on your foundation, let a makeup sponge soak into a cup of water while you putting on your primer. This will make a WORLD of difference when you see how natural your face will look
From this interview , I realized we have alot in common and I love her even more now ! We both love Corbin Bleu ..,Gorgeous !!!! and We both have similar dream jobs ..Interesting lol.
