How To Make A Custom Blog Header

As  a girl I would like to think is tech savy , I am always thinking of ways to change and update my blog. Even though I work well with computers when it comes to HTML coding (coding used to change blog appearance ) I have not felt the most comfortable with and it has been a  I have recently learned how to create my own custom blog header and buttons So why not share this info with other bloggers looking to change up their blog appearance also .

A custom header is a must for a blog that wants to stand out and/or work its way to building a brand for their blog. There are probably a ton of ways to do this but , I have figured out a quick , easy way that works for me .

First you decide which photo editing program you would like to use for your header. I like to use Picmonkey (formerly Picnic)  which  is easy and free to use.  Then, you have to upload a image of your choice to start with. I like to start with a plain background; but you can also use a photo.

Next , after you upload your image/photo to edit  you can start designing your background .

There are vast amount of designs / add ons you can choose from . I wanted my header to have a simple, cute and clean look.  I only wanted to add text and a border and color coordinated.

I used the text editor,   to add my text on my image background. Click the P symbol to view the available fonts.  You can choose the type of font ,size and color you wish . I decided to have different fonts for my title .

You can also add different overlays , like stars , hearts , different shapes and other cool overlays to personalize your header.

After adding my text and overlay shapes , I added a border for the finishing touch . I used the frame border tool to create a black border around my header .

Lastly make sure you save your image as a JPG file so you can easily upload your header image on to blogger .

This was my first tutorial post , and this is just the way I do my headers but I hoped this helped you a little more on your journey to create your new fabulous  header image.
